Travel Diary | 48 Hours in Amsterdam

Last weekend, I hopped on a (very quick) flight to spend a couple of days in Amsterdam. Even though it's so near, I had never been before, but always had it at the top of my travel list. I had the loveliest time, and I wanted to share some of my travel pictures on Rose's Rooftop, along with some recommendations of things to do. Keep reading to find out more...

What To Do

The Anne Frank Museum
I knew that I wanted to visit the Anne Frank Museum as soon as I booked the trip back in May. However, tickets for the museum sell out, and are released around two months before. Make sure you make a note of this, and book as soon as the tickets become available on the website.
The museum itself is busy, but definitely a must visit.

Foodhallen is an indoor market containing food stalls and bars. It's open until late, but it's also a really good option if you want to grab some food but you're not too sure of what you want. There are a huge range of global cuisines, and large areas for sitting and enjoying your food or drink.

Canal Tours
When the weather starts to turn, or your feet start to hurt, a canal tour is the solution! Many are covered, which is great for if the weather isn't the best, and contain audio information so you can learn whilst you travel.

Set slightly out of the center of the city, Vondelpark is the capital's main park. Filled with beautiful fountains, statues and greenery. It is well worth a cycle or a walk around if you have some free time.

Have you visited Amsterdam before?
