Review | Cafe Rouge Seasonal Lunch

Last Sunday, I headed into my city center for some lunch. Cafe Rouge isn't somewhere which I've been a lot, but when I go, I always enjoy it. With the addition to brunches and afternoon tea on their menu, it's somewhere where I'm sure that I'll be heading a lot more often now! Read on to check out what I ate, and what I thought....

Starter
Smoked trout pate with watercress and chargrilled sourdough

Main
Pork escalope with a free range fried egg, thyme jus, cornichons and frites

Dessert
Bramley apple and blackberry oat and cinnamon crumble and creme Anglaise

The Art Deco building itself is really beautiful, and dates back to the 1930's where it was a seed company exhibition hall and opened by the mayor and founder of the Ryder Cup.

The food itself was incredibly tasty and perfect for a Sunday lunch, the dessert in particular was warm and cosy and the cinnamon made it taste comforting. I would recommend a trip to Cafe Rouge on a lazy weekend and I'm excited to go back and check out the afternoon tea!

What's your favourite food to eat on a Sunday?
