February | Positive Thinking

This time of year, there doesn't seem to be that much to look forward to. Spring still feels like a few months away and we've all lost the festive magic we had in December. Granted, we've all made it through January but with almost two more months to go until the clocks change and the days get lighter and brighter, what can make us feel happier? Read on to see how you can keep positive this month...

Gratitude Journal
Even though it's in the name, it doesn't have to be a whole journal filled with reasons, a piece of paper or a post-it note will do. Take a few minutes every evening or once a week to write down the things that have made you happy. It might be that you treated yourself to a fancy coffee or chatted to a friend you haven't seen for a while or just that the sun shone and you made it to work without any traffic! At the end of the month, read everything you've written over the past few weeks.

Book A Trip
Though I'm sure that we're all desperate to jump on a plane to a tropical island, for many of us, that just isn't possible this time of year. However, booking or even planning a trip will put something in your diary to look forward to and keep in mind when you're feeling down. Once booked, setting aside a few evenings to do some research will also feel exciting.

Weekend Treats
It's easy to get swept up in life and work during the week but it's also important to take care of yourself. At the weekend, give yourself a treat for getting through the week. For example, a book you've been wanting to read, a trip to your favourite restaurant or even just a day at home of doing nothing. This will give you something special to look forward to during the week.

Good Food
It's never a nice feeling when you've had a long day and get home to find that there's nothing to eat. At this time of year, it's especially important to make sure that you eat well and take care of yourself so meal plan at the weekend and make dinner times something special and tasty.

How do you stay positive in the winter?
