Travel Diary | France

Earlier this week I took a little pre-Christmas trip to Wimereux in France. Before Rose's Rooftop takes a break for the holidays, I wanted to share these pictures as Wimereux is such a lovely place to visit and it's particularly special at this time of year.

The trees around the town are all decorated with bows and the shop windows are beautifully laid out and welcoming. There are some great antique shops if you like searching for a hidden treasure or there's an amazing bakery filled with cake, bread and pastries.

Because it's by the sea, a lot of the houses are holiday homes owned by families in Paris and other larger cities but you can see why Wimereux draws people in. The brightly coloured houses and nautical feel is inviting, even on the coldest of December days.

I spent lunchtime at one of the restaurants in the town center eating entrecote and potato dauphinois before having a wander around the shops. My favourite is the traditional French pharmacy to check out all the brand they have and the chocolate shop because the smell is amazing!

What are your pre-Christmas traditions?
