August | Favourites

Although I'm sad that my favourite season is coming to an end, I can't deny that I'm looking forward to watching the leaves on the trees change colour and all the other beautiful things that Autumn brings. Today I wanted to share a couple of my August highlights so read on to check out what they were..

Book - Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine
I had this book sitting on my bookcase for quite a while, it was recommended to me but I didn't think it would be my thing. I actually enjoyed it so much, I read it in two days as I couldn't put it down. Don't be fooled by the lack of detail on the blurb - what's inside is actually a really captivating and heartwarming story.

DIY - Upcycling
I've never had much of a go at any sort of DIY project before, but this month I had a couple of items of furniture I couldn't bring myself to throw away, but I also wasn't crazy about how they looked in their original state. Without much optimism, I decided to have a go at upcycling and really loved how they turned out. For more detail, check out my post about my table here and look out for another upcoming post in the next few months too.

Fashion - Zara Distressed Jeans
Once the weather got a little bit cooler, I rediscovered my Zara distressed jeans which had been sitting forgotten for a good couple of months. They look good rolled up and styled casually with some espadrilles and a striped jumper.

Food - Carluccio's Pasta
I've made this dish at least twice a week throughout this month and still can't get enough of it! It's the most popular dish on the Carluccio's menu and also really easy to make (you can check out the recipe here) but make sure that you squeeze all of the water out of the spinach so that the fritters get really nice and crispy.

What have you been loving this month?
