Travel | The Once In A Lifetime Bucket List Destinations You Need To Visit

Traveling is one of those things that many of us love to do, and yet, we don't get as much time to do it as much as we should. With life getting in the way and work commitments some people only get to travel once or twice a year, so it's important to make the right decision. When it comes to that special vacation a lot of people prefer to choose a destination that allows them to completely relax and forget about their daily lives, which is why I thought I would share with you some of the most idyllic travel destinations to help you escape reality.

Perhaps you are considering an Asian destination with a difference. Then look no further than Indonesia. There are so many amazing places to see in this vast country that you are spoilt for choice. Heading to the capital Jakarta gives you the ideal spot to explore some of the countries smaller regions that are full of culture. Websites like can also give you a great heads up when it comes to accommodation and rentals. There is also the stunning location that is Bali. This fabulous destination offers luxurious accommodation to suit all budgets that it really could be the paradise in reach of everyone. With beautiful white sandy beaches as far as the eye can see it is a great location to relax and unwind. It is fast becoming a popular destination so make sure you get there to witness the beauty. Once you are in Indonesia, you may want to take a moment to visit one of the famous Buddhist temples. It really is an experience not to be missed.

The Maldives
Why not head out to the Indian Ocean and experience The Maldives. This location is a great place if you are looking for a more quiet and relaxing holiday which is perfect to escape reality. The accommodation choices vary from water villas through to all inclusive hotels that offer amazing accommodation with spa facilities to boot. With beautiful white sandy beaches, extensive reefs and blue lagoons you won't be disappointed with your choice. The Maldives is one of those destinations that you probably associate more with couples. It happens to be very popular with honeymoons and couple getaways. But actually, there are some family friendly locations as well, meaning that you can enjoy some of the beauty of these islands as a family, so don't let that put you off considering this wonderful location

St Lucia
St Lucia is widely known as the most beautiful island the Caribbean has to offer. Just like The Maldives, it has long been a popular destination for couples mostly choosing to honeymoon in this paradise. I can definitely see the attraction with the white sandy beaches and the picturesque scenery making this the perfect idyllic travel destination. It is an island that is ready for tourism, so it has plenty of all inclusive hotels and boutique hot spots to inspire you. It also is famous for a jazz festival that takes place during the spring.

With so many places to visit in Australia, it would be easy to be overwhelmed. Which is why I thought I would dedicate a small section to the country to highlight some of the perhaps not so well-known but still worthy of a visit kind of places. My first suggestion would be the ideal beach spot. If you are looking to escape the grueling routine of daily life then head north of Brisbane and to the wonderful place that is Noosa. This is the place that the Australians take their vacations, and by heading there, you will see why. Stunning beaches, breathtaking scenery, and restaurants to tantalize the taste buds you won't want to leave. Escape reality in the furthest possible way here. If you are looking for something that is a little more glam then you may want to head to Hamilton Island. One of the Whitsunday islands and based in Queensland this place really does have something for everyone. You are also really close to the Great Barrier Reef meaning that you could also tick that off you bucket list while you are there. Heaven. Of course, you may have some of the popular places on your bucket list for Australia such as Melbourne and Sydney, but if you can, try and add a few different destinations into the mix to make your Australian escape that little bit extra special.

Santorini, Greece
Santorini is a Greek Island that has grown in popularity in recent years. Known for its breathtaking scenery and stunning backdrops, it's easy to see why this is the perfect idyllic destination to escape reality. It won't be long before you are sauntering the streets hand in hand enjoying wine and good food while marveling at the pretty scenery. Enjoy the tasty Greek cuisine in a local taverna and catch a glimpse at the stars in the evening light.

Finally, I thought I would add one more destination into this list of once in a lifetime destinations and I think you will understand why. Hawaii. It definitely is a popular place for some when it comes to their bucket lists and for good reason. Hawaii is actually part of the USA, and is in fact seen as quite isolated islands in the central Pacific area. Made up of volcanic rock and glorious beaches you can instantly relax when you get here. The groups of islands have a mixed terrain of volcanic rock, cliffs and stunning waterfalls, so there really is something for everyone to see and witness whilst here. There are six main islands, the largest being Oahu which has the capital city of Honolulu, one of the popular places to visit. Honolulu is home to the Waikiki beach and also the World War Two Pearl Harbour memorials.

I hope these destinations have inspired you to add a few new locations to your travel bucket list.

Where would you like to go next?
