Staycation Celebration | Local Luxury

The worst thing about suffering from Wanderlust Disease is the financial rash you come up in. Yeah. Travelling has got infinitely cheaper since 1912, but it still isn't cheap-cheap. Thankfully, the far-flung exotic paradises you keep seeing on Mangata London's Instagram page aren't the only places that boast a certain appeal. No way. In fact, there is something incomparable about jumping in your car and running away to a hidden moment in the UK for a weekend of recouping. It's the adventure that gets forgotten.

That's why we've rounded up the best staycation spots our little island has to offer. By the end, you many never want to get on a plane again.

1. Pentire Penthouse
When it comes to coastal views, it doesn't get much better that waking up on a Cornish hill, brewing your first espresso of the day and enjoying it from a rooftop jacuzzi, the morning chill nipping at the top of your shoulders as you soak in the rugged yet staggering views of this corner. It's the perfect spot for a group of friends desperate to run away from the big city.

2. Brathay Hall
When it comes to exploring the wilds of Cumbria, there's nowhere better to call your home away from from than Ambleside. But of all of the Ambleside hotels to pick from (and trust us, there is a smorgasbord of amazing options) you'll want to book a B&B room at the luxury Brathay Hall, which is set in 360 acres of stunning woodlands and rolling pastures at the head of Windermere. It's magical.

3. Soho Farmhouse
If you get the feeling you'll want to escape the hustle and bustle in about twelve months time and head to a retreat where every tiny detail is designed to make you relaxed, then you'll want to pop your name on the waiting list because this place has it all. Personalised bicycles, freshly baked bread brought to your room and, yes, the most Instagrammed bathtub in the world (probably).

4. Croft 103
Even if you are the kind of person that loves sandy beaches, tons of sun and a fully stocked cocktail bar, the idea of running away to a beautiful bolthole in the center of some far-off wilderness is still attractive. After all, who would be able to resist a warm bubble bath while overlooking the sweeping vistas of Scotland's best landscape? You could even take an al fresco soak if you were feeling really courageous.

5. Golden Meadow
There is something so special about Devon. It's the chance to feel at one with the countryside while forever looking out at the endless possibilities of the open sea. It's somewhere everyone should visit. But if you want to squeeze every single drop of luxury out of this place, you need to head to Golden Meadow, which has everything from floor-to-ceiling windows to a cinema room, not to mention a vast amount of outdoor space for you to kick back in and enjoy the golden sands from.

Where are your favourite staycation places?
