Home | Organisation

I'd like to think that I'm quite an organised person (whatever my friends and family may say!) and am often looking for ways to maximize space and get rid of clutter. Today, I wanted to share a couple of my tips to keep your home from looking less like a jumble sale and more like a Pinterest board. Read on to check out my ideas...

Utilize Your Walls
We have so much space on the walls around us that isn't often used to get the most out of. Maximize their potential buy putting up shelves in every room and hanging racks or mirrors in bedrooms with hidden storage behind them.

──────

Group Similar Items Together
Sometimes, it only makes sense to you where you store something and it can be impossible for other people to work out how to find things! Keep similar items in storage boxes such as skincare, cleaning products and cables.

────

Open Storage
I read a great tip not too long ago which said that if your storage is open for all to see, you are much more likely to keep it neat and tidy. Open wardrobes are great for this (if you have a beautiful clothes or bag collection) and bookcases with baskets and storage boxes on the shelves also look orderly as well as getting rid of clutter.

────

Invest In Multi-Purpose Furniture
A bed that's also storage. A sofa that stores all your books. A hollow ottoman. When buying furniture, especially if you live in a small space, look for the most space saving solution that doubles up as two products in one to make your home look as beautiful as possible.

How do you keep organised?

  6. These are good tips! :) I find the toy clutter is the hardest thing to tidy up, so we have used storage under the sofa and put boxes in the book case so we can make use of the space we already have, I really agree with that tip of yours! :)

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend to end your week! We have family visiting so it will be a busy but fun weekend :)

  14. I definitely agree with the open storage thing - I'm so guilty of shoving everything in my wardrobe and just thinking it's tidy because I can't see it haha!
