Hair | Waves & Braids

I don't really like to spend too much time trying out new styles on my hair, either it won't turn out the way I'm hoping or I'll spend all day checking that it's stayed in place and re-pinning it to death.
Today, I wanted to share a two minute braid that's so easy to do, doesn't require loads of different products and looks good for all occasions. I've added an optional second step, I don't tend to wear my hair straight so I like to curl my hair every other day to get some waves and definition but the braid itself is super quick and easy. Read on to check out how to do it..

Step One
Start with clean, dry hair. Add a little texturising spray if your hair is fine and silky to help the style stay in place.

Step Two
Style your hair as normal. I like to use a medium barreled curling tong and, in sections, style my hair away from my face.

Step Three
Taking a medium section of hair from one side of your face, dutch braid it halfway around your head. Pin in place (If you can't dutch braid, a normal one will work just as well but will require a bit more hairspray)

Step Four
Gently pull the edges of the braid to create some more volume and spray into place. Add statement hair clips or flowers if you have them.

How do you style your hair?

  10. This is such a beautiful braid - and one I've not seen styled anywhere else before! The duo of gold leaves finish the look perfectly. I also dislike having to keep checking my hair throughout the day to see if the look is still in place, and so this is definitely something I'd give a go :) Have a fabulous weekend!

  13. I love this! It's really not practical for me to have anything even remotely high maintenance when I'm styling my hair since I spend my days keeping up with 7 year olds. This is the perfect style that's both cute but low fuss and I don't have to worry about it after I'm done.
    Thanks for the inspo!
