Today I wanted to share some pictures from my visit to Kensington Palace this week. Despite walking past it lots of times, I didn't actually realise that it was open for visitors until this month! Fast forward to a very autumnal Wednesday and I was walking past the famous gates into the palace itself...
The Palace
Kensington Palace was built in 1605 but wasn't actually owned by the royals until about 80 years later. The state rooms are managed by Historical Royal Palaces and are open all year to the public to visit. It homes a number of impressive paintings, historical clothing and furniture as well as temporary exhibitions (more of which below). There's also a sunken garden as well as an orangery which doubles as a restaurant.
Exhibitions
The palace runs quite a lot of temporary exhibitions and I was lucky enough to see Diana: Her Fashion Story. Princess Diana lived there for many years and a collection of her most famous dresses are on display until early next year. If you are a fan of fashion or the royal family then I would highly recommend a visit!
Have you visited Kensington Palace before?

Oh what a beautiful palace to visit! It's the shame the weather wasn't better, I bet the gardens are so nice to explore on a sunny day! :) That would be a lovely exhibition to see too.
