August Favourites

August has absolutely flown past and I can't believe that it's already September on Friday! I'm off on one last summer trip so hopefully I'll see a little bit more sunshine before autumn arrives and my coat and boots are back on. This month hasn't been particularly warm in England but I've made the most of it with lots of exciting activities such as a live action escape game and seeing Olivia Coleman in Mosquitoes at the National Theatre. Read on to check out some of my August favourites...

Book - The Girl Before
I'd been hearing lots of hype about this book and I finally managed to get my hands on it last month to take on holiday but eventually decided against it because of it's size (the paperback version is released in January next year) and saved it to read this month. The story is really gripping and easy to read but also very unsettling and eerie. Even though it's only been out a matter of months, the story is already being made into a film and I can't wait!

Makeup - Clinique All About Shadow Palette
I really love Clinique eyeshadows, I think that they always have pretty and wearable colours and they blend so easily and this palette is no different. I like the diverse range of shades and think that you can create many looks from these six colours. My favourites are the lightest champagne shade and the silvery grey colours which I think look great together.

Podcast - The Guilty Feminist
I discovered this podcast by Deborah Frances-White a couple of weeks ago and have been laughing non stop since. The episodes are truly hilarious and I've still got lots to catch up on which I'm saving for my holiday! Deborah and guests talk about being a woman in the 21st century and manage to discuss some distressing subjects with humour but also seriousness. I would totally recommend this to anybody for a work commute or a long drive.

Body - Black Stockings Butter Bar
This butter bar has been so good for maintaining my summer glow. It's really easy to apply and smells wonderful too. I have a few of these bars but Black Stockings is by far my favourite and I've been using it on the rare occasion it's been warm enough to wear dresses!

  3. Lovely post Rosanna! The Girl Before looks like a promising read, I hadn’t heard about it before you mentioned it, thanks for the recommendation. I think Podcasts in general are a great idea – the one you mentioned sounds super interesting. Lush products are great for pamper nights, I like their body butters and shower gels. This month I’ve been loving re-reading Paul Arden books, they are so inspirational. I’ve also been using the salted caramel bath and shower from the Treat Me range at Superdrug, it smells divine. Sending wishes for a great month ahead. :-) xx
